Frank Palumbo has previously offered various SOAR courses related to the works of Ray Bradbury, as well as courses on Classic Science Fiction, Martial Arts History and Philosophy, and Personal Safety and Fitness seminars.

Frank has taught nearly 200 of Bradbury’s works as an English teacher in the Gouverneur School District, as a distance learning sci-fi instructor, and as a SOAR presenter.  For over 15 years, Frank, along with his family and students, maintained close communications with Bradbury up until the writer's death 2012. In 2009 Frank and his family traveled to California to join in celebrating Ray Bradbury’s 89th birthday.

Frank Palumbo has studied and taught the martial arts for over forty years. As a teacher and coach of athletic programs throughout the North Country, Frank has worked with youth in K-12, with college students and staff, and with many adult organizations. He has authored publications related to personal fitness and the histories and philosophies of the martial arts. Frank is a Master Instructor of American Kang Duk Won Karate.

As an educator in the Gouverneur School District, Frank has taught English, coached athletics, taught martial arts, and coordinated wellness programs for over 30 years. He has worked with athletes of all ages. Currently he directs karate/self-defense programs in numerous area schools, as well as at St. Lawrence University. Frank holds a ninth degree master Black Belt in American Kang Duk Won Karate. He has also authored numerous publications related to karate and self-defense.
