Jim Barry is a retired chemistry teacher. He is a frequent presenter, he's on the SOAR Board of Directors and he also is Curriculum Committee Co-chair for SOAR. Jim was named Super SOARer in spring 2006.

In the past, Jim has taught a variety of chemistry courses, as well as teaching courses on Sudoku and Ken Ken. He also gave a presentation in Vicarious Voyagers on "Ireland: The Emerald Isle."

In fall 2011, Jim was  the coordinator for the series "North Country Authors" Jim himself has written dozens of stories. He enjoys  participating in a writers' group at the Canton Free Library.
