Elizabeth (Liz) Erickson Brown is a Professor in the Criminal Justice Department at SUNY Canton where she has been teaching forensic science and criminal justice courses for 14 years. Every spring semester she offers a course on serial killers. She and her students work through "Hunt a Killer" mysteries to practice their skills.

Her background prior to academia includes work as a Latent Print Examiner with the Onondaga Center for Forensic Sciences. She also worked as a forensic scientist for the Indiana State Police Forensic Laboratory. She is the author of the book: Criminalistics Laboratory Manual: The Basics of Forensic Investigation. (Anderson Publishing - imprint of Elsevier, 2014)
