Jane Subramanian served as a librarian at SUNY Potsdam for 38 years and also served as College Archivist prior to her retirement. She continues to volunteer at the College Archives and Special Collections. She has published and given presentations on topics in librarianship, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and the Norwood Brass Firemen.
Jane has a great interest in local history. The presentation she wrote on the Brass Firemen was a winner in a nationwide competition of the Music Library Association, and Jane delivered this presentation at their annual meeting in San Diego, California in March 2010.
Jane's interest in Laura Ingalls Wilder’s works was rekindled during her pursuit of her M.L.S. degree. Jane is the author of Laura Ingalls Wilder: An Annotated Bibliography of Critical, Biographical, and Teaching Studies.
