This course covers important aspects of SUNY Potsdam’s history, including earlier campus locations, types of curriculum, significant events, everyday life on campus, etc. The presenter will show photographs from the SUNY Potsdam College Archives & Special Collections, and speak about the creation of the new photographic history of the college, recently published by Arcadia Publishing Co. Other resources available on the college’s history will be discussed briefly.

Jane Subramanian served as a librarian at SUNY Potsdam for over 37 years; prior to her retirement she also served as the college archivist. She continues to volunteer at the College Archives & Special Collections. Topics of her publications and past presentations range from aspects of librarianship, to Laura Ingalls Wilder, and to the Norwood Brass Firemen. Jane has a great interest in local history.
