Mike and Kathy Crowe
Print Info
Mike and Kathy Crowe have enjoyed traveling abroad. Mike was an AFS exchange student in Mersin, Turkey in the summer of 1962. He returned 3 times to visit his exchange "brother," Atilay. Mike's wife, Kathy, went on the most recent trip. The trips included Istanbul, western Turkey on the Agean seacoast and the area near the Greek Islands. Mike took in the magnificent Blue Mosque and the former Christian church of Emperor Constantine, "Hagia Sophia," in the center of Istanbul. On the Agean coast they walked the streets of the City of Troy, visited a museum housed in a fortress in Bodrum, which was built by Crusaders for protection on their way to Jerusalem. They stood at the public square in Ephesus, where St. Paul preached to the Ephesians, and they took in the school where Hippocrates taught his medical students on the Greek Island of Kos.
