Command Sergeant Major (CMS) John F. McNeirney enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1986. He completed Military Police One Station Unit Training with Fort McClellan, AL.

At Fort Drum, NY, CSM McNeirney has served in a variety of positions including Military Police Driver and M60 Gunner, Team Leader, Protective Services Agent, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, Battalion and Brigade Operations Sergeant, Human Resources Command Enlisted Assignments Manager, HQDA Action Officer, Directorate of Emergency Services Sergeant Major, Installation Provost Sergeant Major, Task Force 91 MP Command Sergeant Major and most recently served as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major for the 91st Military Police Battalion.

His previous unit assignments include: 194th MP Company Heilbronn, Germany; HHD 385th MP Battalion, Kornwestheim Germany; HHC 14th MP Brigade, Kornwestheim Germany; 204th MP Company. Stuttgart Germany; 511th MP Company, Fort Drum, NY; Military Police Activity, Fort Monroe VA; Company B, 1 /34th Infantry Regiment, Fort Jackson, SC; Headquarters and Headquarters Company 8th MP Bde, Yongsan Korea; 142nd MP Company, Yongsan Korea; HHD 701st MP Battalion, Ft Leonard Wood, MO; Company C, 787th MP Battalion, Ft Leonard Wood, MO; US Army Human Resources Command, Alexandria, VA; Headquarters Department of the Army Installation Management Command, Arlington, VA; USAG-West Point, NY; and the 91st Military Police Battalion, Ft Drum NY. He has participated in combat operations in Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Somalia.

CSM McNeirney’s military education include: Command Sergeant Major Course, Sergeants Major Course (Class 55), First Sergeant Course, ANCOC, BNCOC, PLDC, Protective Services Training, Anti Terrorism Instructor Course, Rappel Master Course, Special Reaction Team Training, Air Assault School, Drill Sergeant School, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Army Instructor Training Course, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, Antiterrorism Program Managers Course, Conventional Physical Security Course, Domestic Violence Intervention Training Course, Enlisted Personnel Management Course, FEMA National Incident Management System Training, EEO Seminar for Managers and Supervisors, HQDA Action Officer Course, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training, and the DEOMI Senior Leader’s Team Seminar. CSM McNeirney has a Bachelors Degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Human Resource Management from Park University and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
