In this presentation we will talk about the amazing substance – coffee, discussing its role in nature, its multifaceted biological activity, its possible benefits, the problems that it can cause, and also some of the methods of coffee preparation.

Artem Melman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science at Clarkson University. His research in organic and medicinal chemistry involves synthesis of new biologically active compounds, some of which possess caffeine-like properties.
