Print Info

Joshua Thomas is an astrophysicist currently teaching physics and astronomy at Clarkson University. He studies binary stars, in particular the binary at the center of the Red Rectangle nebula. He is the director of Clarkson’s observatory and, along with doing his own research, he is training undergraduates to do their own astrophysical research.

He works with local middle school and high school teachers, to motivate their students to consider making careers out of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The activities presented in the Spring 2017 course "Roller Coaster Design" are part of our week-long summer roller coaster camp held each year for roughly 100 students.
