Don Mesibov is the Founder/director of The Institute for Learning Centered Education Autism Initiative. For forty years Don's brother, Gary, was the go-to person in the world for training and information about autism. Don's recent book, based on interviews with 83 people around the world, describes Gary's work, the history of autism, and why the "Refrigerator Mother Theory" that blamed mothers for autism in their children was able to be accepted universally for many years.
