NOTE: SLU classrooms are used only when there are SLU students or current SLU faculty involved in teaching a SOAR course.

 

DESCRIPTION / DIRECTIONS: From downtown Canton, take Park St. to the far edge of the SLU campus (just beyond the science buildings on the left; sports buildings on right). Turn right into parking lot D, behind the sports complex. Drive around to next corner to the far side of the building to park. If no spots are available there, retreat back to behind the building. The main entrance to the building is on the side facing the stadium. Your "GIS, GPS and Geocaching" class meets near the side lot behind the outside tennis courts.

PARKING: D lot has two sides to it. Park as close as you can to the oval drive (entrance from Miner St.) near the front of the building. If you are meeting a group outside, be sure to park next to the tennis courts on the short side of D lot, next to Newell Hall. To avoid a $50 parking ticket, HANG YOUR SUNY POTSDAM SOAR PARKING PASS ON YOUR REARVIEW MIRROR EACH TiME YOU ATTEND A SOAR CLASS AT SLU. NOTE: For classes at Newell, you must enter the building at the front (unless you have a university issued identity card. (NOTE: People in the local community can purchase a renewable membership card to the fitness center. Ask a staff person about that, if interested.)

ACCESSIBILITY:  There are a few handicap parking spaces at the side of the building near the oval (i.e. close to the tennis courts and front entrance of Newell Fieldhouse).

RESTROOMS: You can find restrooms on the main floor of Newell Field House - they are in the old corridor on the left (as you walk from the main entrance).
