Join us for a detailed and humorous discussion of NoCo turtle natural history. New York is native to 11 aquatic turtles and one terrestrial turtle species. We'll discuss each species, how to identify it, where it lives, and what it does throughout the year. We'll look at photos, skeletons, preserved specimen, and live animals.

Kris Hoffmann is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology at SLU and an amphibian and reptile conservation biologist with a soft spot for working dogs. Her wildlife detector dog-and-student teams locate endangered turtles for state biologists in the Northeast.
