This course will be in 2 sessions. In the first, participants will be introduced to the Wellman scale and given historic background on the local anti-slavery movement. Known local conductors will be discussed. For the second session, each person or team will pick a site and investigate it using the parameters of the Wellman scale (NPS). Groups or individuals will each be given time to report back during the second session.

Bryan Thompson is  the De Kalb Town Historian. He received his BS from Cornell U, his MS from SUNY Geneseo, is a Post grad McGill U, and a 7th generation St Lawrence County resident.
