Food waste represents a valuable resource for energy generation and fertilizer. On the Clarkson campus we are recovering valuable resources by diverting food waste from the landfill through anaerobic digestion. This lecture will present our experiences and offer some background to the technology needed for this project.

Stefan Grimberg has been a faculty member at Clarkson for the past 20 years. He is interested in studying biological processes to address environmental problems. Over the past 10 years he has worked on anaerobic digestion of agricultural and high strength wastes.
