oseph Campbell, in his non-fiction book Hero with a Thousand Faces, outlines the steps the hero takes from “The Call to Adventure,” down to the underworld, to his return as “The Master of Two Worlds.” In this class we will see how this hero journey plays out in modern cinema. We will watch and discuss, “Willow,” “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” and “The Mists of Avalon.” There will be action, adventure and, as always – magic!

Peggy Mooers is a longtime member of SOAR, having helped start the organization, along with her husband Dick (the first Chairman of the Board). Peggy has presented other film classes on Hitchcock, Marilyn Monroe, and early silent movies. This past fall Peggy and Dick were presenters for Vicarious Voyagers. At the spring 2008 luncheon, both Peggy and Dick were honored by being named “Super SOARers.”
