The presenter will discuss his research on the structure and function of animal groups such as flocks, schools, and swarms. Special attention will be paid to how researchers can experimentally test the function of such groups, and how scientists can then simulate these functions on computers.

Bill Romey teaches animal behavior and entomology at SUNY Potsdam.
