NOTE: Because of high demand, this presentation is going to be repeated on Thursday May 16 1:30-3:00 at SLCHA: Silas Wright House in Canton. Those people who were closed out of the May 9 date have automatically been enrolled in the new section.

In this presentation, we focus on the parallel lives of these two men during the Civil War. Unknowingly, Lincoln and Whitman often crossed paths with each other. Learn how each inspired the other during those turbulent years.

Terry Niles is the owner of Niles Asset Management, Inc, and he owns a hobby farm in East Dickinson. But his main hobby is studying history. Terry majored in history and government at SLU. He is a former board member of the St. Lawrence Country Historical Association and is active in the local Civil War Roundtable. In honor of the many fine courses he has taught for SOAR, he was awarded the “Leon LeBeau Outstanding SOARing Educator Award” at the fall 2012 luncheon.
