J. H. Rushton built his first canoe in 1876 and never looked back. His business grew from a small workshop in Canton to the Rushton Boat Shop on Water Street (now Riverside Drive). By the 1880’s he was receiving national and international recognition for his boats.
Trent Trulock has served for 15 years as the St. Lawrence County Historian and Executive Director of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association (SLCHA). Trent has an M.A. in Anthropology, with an emphasis on museums and education, from the University of Colorado and a B.A. in Anthropology from Indiana University.
