This course will cover the last half of the Lincoln Presidency. As the Civil War enters the last two years, both sides suffer horrific casualties. The challenge for the President is to find the leadership among his generals that will lead to victory for the Union, and put an end to the bloodshed. The course will conclude with a brief discussion of the assassination of Lincoln and the legacy left behind by this great American icon.
Terry Niles was a history and government major at St. Lawrence University. He is on the Board of Directors for the St. Lawrence Country Historical Society. He is an active member of the Civil War Round Table.
