Parks are inherently enjoyable, and our national parks have been called the "best idea we ever had." They also serve as proxies for larger issues, both environmental and societal. In this course we will explore some of these issues together, with a number of students at St. Lawrence joining in the conversation.
Peter Pettengill is an Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at St. Lawrence University. He has worked for the National Park Service and enjoys regularly teaching classes on park planning and recreation management.
