In this course you will get to sample twelve video lectures (each approx. 30 minutes). This popular lecture series is given by Professor Richard Brettell of the University of Texas at Dallas. In this group of lectures Brettell discusses such topics as the influence of Napoleon III and art critic Baudelaire had on Impressionism. You will also find in-depth discussions of the works of individual artists such as Manet, Renoir, Monet, and others.
Leon LeBeau taught watercolor classes for SOAR for many years. In spring 2004, Leon received the very first “Super SOARer” award. The “Leon LeBeau Outstanding Contribution to SOAR” award was created especially to honor his years of dedication to our organization.
Sally Kirby was a long-time member in Leon’s art classes. This semester she is one of the coordinators for the “Art Workshop” class. Both Leon and Sally are accomplished watercolorists and both work in other art media as well.
