Learn about John Philip Sousa’s life and hear some of Sousa’s famous marches at this presentation. The presenter will also describe and demonstrate her trumpet (an important instrument in Sousa’s band).
Dana Barry has doctoral degrees in engineering and science education. She is the Senior Technical Writer and Editor at Clarkson’s Center for Advanced Materials Processing. Also a musician, Dana sings in a group and belongs to several bands where she plays trumpet and the electronic piano. Her connection to Sousa’s band came early: when she was in grade school she received music lessons from a member of Sousa’s band.
