Complex networks are all around us, from the routers of the Internet and the WWW, to networks of flight connections, and networks of social contacts, to neurons in the brain, etc. Such complex networks have been the focus of a new branch of science, during the past 15-16 years. In this talk the presenter will discuss the history of complex networks and some of the exciting insights that he has learned about them.
Daniel ben-Avraham has been conducting research and teaching physics at Clarkson University since 1987. He has been studying complex networks since 1999.
