Generally regarded as the foremost writer of short stories in English, Alice Munro’s work has been delighting readers of the New Yorker since the 1970s. We will read and discuss some of the stories in Munro’s Carried Away: A Selection of Stories (2006).
Bob Thacker is Dana Professor of Canadian Studies at SLU. He is a leading academic expert on Canadian writer Alice Munro. He has been working on Munro’s fiction as a critic and bibliographer since 1974. In 2005 Bob published the first extended Munro biography, Alice Munro: Writing Her Lives (revised and updated 2011).
