Come explore the lives and family relationships of the Presidents and First Ladies, including their children and their parents, as well as some of the “black sheep” of their extended families. Included is newly-discovered material about a First Lady with a local connection. The only First Lady of the Confederate States of America is also someone we will discuss.
Fran Van Horne is a retired nursing instructor who prefers reading biography to reading fiction. She has taught several courses for SOAR on the British Royal Family, the Vanderbilts, The Flu Epidemic of 1918, as well as on the wives of American Presidents.
