Because of the brevity of this four-week workshop, only those individuals with previous watercolor instruction should register. This is not a class for beginners! Participants will be challenged to explore their uniqueness through utilization of new approaches, designs, and materials which they must provide. New materials to supplement transparent watercolor may include gouache, acrylic, colored pencil, watercolor pencils, pen and ink, wax or oil crayons, permanent ink markers, liquid mask, etc.— whatever is presently available and/or of interest to the participant. Completion of assignments outside of class will be expected.
Leon LeBeau has been teaching drawing and watercolor to SOAR participants since the beginning of the SOAR program; he has also instructed art classes at the Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg and at the For Art’s Sake Gallery in Malone. Leon has participated in numerous exhibits in the North Country and the Adirondacks.
