LUNCHEON NOTES

NEARBY CONSTRUCTION: There is  construction going on across from our fall luncheon site at Knowles Conference Center (i.e. where we held our spring 10th anniversary luncheon). Watch out for trucks! There are now many fewer parking spaces in that area of the campus, and SUNY classes are still in session on Friday, Nov. 18th. Allow yourself more time than usual to get to our luncheon venue!

SHUTTLE PARKING TO/FROM LOT #9: Use the large lot # 9 (on the Hosmer Hall side of the Crane School of Music complex). From town, take Main St. out to Hosmer Hall, and use either one of two entrances (at the ends) into lot #9. Let the “SOAR SHUTTLE VANS” whisk you to and from the luncheon site. The vans (and possibly some private cars) will run between lot #9 to Knowles from 11:00am - 2:30pm. If you are carpooling, approach (from Pierrepont Ave) along Barrington Drive, pass by the union - Knowles is the last building on the right; drop off your passengers and then drive on up to lot #9, park and take the shuttle (or walk) back. DISPLAY YOUR PARKING PASS!

PARK AND WALK: If you park in lot #9 and want to walk back to Knowles - please walk on the grassy far shoulder between the two rows of orange plastic fencing. You may also find spots in lots #2 and #1 between the administration (tower) building and Bay St.  DISPLAY YOUR PARKING PASS!

ELEVATOR, STAIRS, RESTROOMS:  The elevator is in the corner closest to Maxcy Hall (restrooms are nearby); take it to the second floor. There are two sets of stairs to the second floor; they are located on the Outer Main Street side of the building.

MUSIC before the start of the fall luncheon will be provided once again by the “New Horizons Band of Northern New York.” This group includes many fellow SOAR members, including band director, Ron Berry. HAVE TO CANCEL? NOTIFY SOAR: If you sign up for the luncheon and later find you are unable to attend, please notify the SOAR office (315-267-2690) at least one week prior to the luncheon.  Otherwise, SOAR will be charged for the reservation.
