Stars, like humans, have finite lives. In this course, we'll explore how stars form, how they live, and how they die. We'll also learn that we and most of what we know on Earth are the products of stars that lived and died before the Sun and Earth were born.
Aileen O"Donoghue has taught physics and astronomy at St. Lawrence University for many years. She observes the hydrogen content in galaxies using the Green Bank Radio Telescope to characterize the galaxies' mass, rotation, and motion in the universe.
