We live in a society that does not talk about death, dying, or grief, and "spoiler alert", you're going to experience each of them. This class will explore the grief journey, one most of us walk daily, what we know about it, and what is new in the field of grief. This informative and interactive presentation invites participants to learn about grief theory and apply it to their own experiences. Not only will this course give you a clearer understanding of how to navigate your own grief, but it will also help you build a foundation to support others on their grief journeys.

Kate Favaro, C.T., a native Adirondacker and graduate of SUNY Potsdam, has worked for Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley for five years. Normalizing conversations about end-of-life planning, death, dying, and grief has become an unforeseen passion of hers. When not doing this work or supporting individual grievers she can be found by the lake with her golden retriever and a good book or adding stamps to her well-worn passport.
