This course will review of the history of cardiovascular disease in the US, with emphasis on the current roles of weight gain and sedentary behavior. Discussion will include the pathophysiology of obesity and inactivity, the effects of weight loss and exercise, and opportunities to reduce the predicted growth of cardiac and other lifestyle-related diseases.
Bob Rogers worked in outpatient, inpatient, and critical care Internal Medicine for 40+ years with particular interest in Cardiology. He started the exercise testing and echocardiography services at CPH and was the Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer at CPH/SLH for 28 years; he was also the Medical Director and lecturer in Cardiology at Clarkson's PA program for 15 years. Bob is a lifelong runner, biker, hiker, and skier.
