This course will begin with a brief description of the history of Potsdam and of Trinity Church. This will be followed by a discussion of the art of Louis C. Tiffany, his innovations in the production, and the availability of art glass and stained glass. Then we will examine the seven Tiffany windows in Trinity in detail, discussing them individually as both technical and artistic pieces. There will also be time for questions and discussion.
Betsy Travis is a near-lifelong resident of Potsdam and communicant of Trinity Church. She now is retired as director of the Potsdam Public Museum, a position she held for over 25 years.
