In this art course you will have the opportunity to learn how to write the Four Seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) in Kanji, Regular Script and Semi Cursive. Earlier in her life,

Michiko Taylor worked as a commercial artist (sign making at a department store in Japan). For the last ten years, Michiko has been a watercolor artist.

Kyoko Yapa was born and raised in Japan. Here in the States, she has experience as a tutor in conversational Japanese.

NEEDED SUPPLIES:

  • NOTE (on special needed BRUSH,  INK and PAPER): There is a COURSE FEE of $5 for a good Sumi brush and ink; (special paper will be supplied for free by the presenters). You may use your own Sumi brush (it should be larger than #12 round) and Sumi ink (watercolor"black" is OK, but it won't give you the best Japanese culture experience).
  • paper weight
  • newspaper (to practice on)
  • small container for ink = to serve as an "inkwell"
