In this presentation the education system in Japan will be compared to that of the US. We will also look at some cultural differences, such as who is in charge of household money, how professional men handle kitchen duties, how to get fast service at a restaurant, what “yes” really means, etc.
Dana Barry has served as a visiting professor throughout Japan. She has co-authored textbooks used by Japanese students and has had the opportunity to teach classes in Japan at the elementary, secondary, and college levels. Dana holds a PhD in engineering from Osaka University.
