Day 1: How does a pipe organ work, and why does it sound so wonderful? (Laura). Days 2-6: We will discuss the merits of knowing some music repertoire as a listener, talk about how the enjoyment of serious music can be enhanced by a layperson’s knowledge of musical acoustics, and touch on the history and phonics of music reproduction.

NOTE: The first class session is an introduction to, and a demonstration of, the organ in Hosmer Hall (the first class session only will be held in Hosmer).
