Our presenter has been studying the invasive species purple loosestrife in the North Country for the past two summers. She will talk about this research as well as other species in the North Country to be aware of, and what you can do to prevent their spread and possibly remove them from your own property.
Jessica Rogers grew up in the North Country and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies at SUNY Potsdam. She focuses on landscape conservation. After moving back to the North Country after completing her PhD, she noticed the changes in wetlands along the highways and set about trying to understand how to restore some of these areas.
